[GREEN BAY, Wisconsin, April 22, 2026] – This Earth Week, Schreiber Foods, a global food and beverage company, becomes the newest manufacturer to join the U.S. Food Waste Pact, a joint initiative led by nonprofits ReFED and World Wildlife Fund to reduce food waste throughout the supply chain. Schreiber joins a multi-sector cohort of producers, grocery retailers, foodservice operators, and hospitality leaders dedicated to collaborating on high-impact solutions to reduce food waste.
"At Schreiber, our vision is to 'do good through food' every day," said Emily King, Sustainability Director-Americas at Schreiber Foods. "Joining the U.S. Food Waste Pact is a natural extension of our commitment to our earth and our communities. As a manufacturer, we recognize the important role we play in the supply chain to ensure that the food we produce reaches our customers, not landfills."
The Scale of Waste
Despite progress, approximately 29% of all food in the U.S. (70 million tons) still goes unused, unsold or uneaten. Wasted food represents nearly 1.3% of U.S. GDP and accounts for 114 billion lost meals annually.
Building on a Legacy of Sustainability
Schreiber has long prioritized operational excellence and waste reduction, focusing on minimizing waste going to landfills and repurposing byproducts to create energy. By joining the Pact, Schreiber will further scale these efforts, moving beyond internal metrics to contribute to a national standard of transparency and collaborative action.
"We are thrilled to welcome Schreiber as our 30th signatory on Earth Week," said Jackie Suggitt, Vice President of Business Initiatives and Community Engagement at ReFED. "Having one of the nation’s largest dairy manufacturers at the table is a game-changer. Their expertise in large-scale production at a critical node of the value chain will provide invaluable insights as we work to accelerate the national trend of food waste reduction across our signatory base."
