Food Waste Reduction Strategies

  • Participation and partnership with food donation programs following their industry events

  • Advocating for improved food safety and traceability processes

  • Leverage technology like AI forecasting to align supply with demand to reduce overstock, adopt waste tracking systems in kitchens to identify patterns and adjust purchasing and portions, and implement dynamic pricing to move near-expiry items

  • Follow the Food Recovery Hierarchy of feeding people first, then animals, then compost or anaerobic digestion

  • Normalize "imperfect" produce through creative merchandising or incorporation into value-added products
